LaMalfa: Shasta County Receives Major Disaster Declaration Following Zogg Fire

(Shasta County, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa issued the following statement after President Trump amended the federal Major Disaster Declaration in California to include Shasta County, making them eligible for direct federal funding, including Individual and Public Assistance, to assist with disaster recovery following the Zogg Fire.

The Zogg Fire was contained on October 13th, 2020. It burned 56,338 acres, destroyed 204 structures, and took the lives of four people.

LaMalfa said: “The Zogg Fire’s damage to Shasta County, especially to Igo and Ono, was devastating. There is a long road ahead to repair and rebuild. With this Major Disaster Declaration, President Trump and his Administration have committed to supporting Shasta County’s recovery efforts. The President has been a strong ally for Northern California during this fire season, following through with aid when we need it most. Please pray for the families who lost their loved ones in the Zogg Fire, the residents of Shasta County, and for timely wildfire recoveries across Northern California.”
