(Rancho Tehama, CA) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after AT&T opened a cell tower in Rancho Tehama, CA. This comes after the 2012 Ponderosa Fires and the November 2017 shooting at Rancho Tehama Elementary School. Due to the lack of cell service in the area, Tehama County residents were unable to be notified of the danger. A representative from Congressman LaMalfa’s office attended the cell tower ribbon cutting ceremony on February 28th.
LaMalfa said: “The shooting in November 2017 and the 2012 Ponderosa Fire highlighted a real need for cell service in Rancho Tehama. Today’s ribbon cutting ceremony is the result of over two years of work securing the AT&T cell tower by the state, Tehama County, and my office. The cell tower not only provides a wide array of modern conveniences, but it also brings a new level of safety and peace of mind for the people who live, travel, and recreate in the region.”
