(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) released the following statement after the House voted to nominate the Impeachment Managers, thus sending the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate.
LaMalfa said: “After 28 days, Nancy Pelosi finally decided to hand the reins of her partisan impeachment game over to the Senate. After stating that it was “urgent” to impeach the President, she has sat on the articles of impeachment, refusing to hold a vote to name House Impeachment Managers. Nothing has changed over this four-week period, except that Americans have had time to see through Democrats’ misinformation and lack of overwhelming evidence to impeach the President.
Our Founders would have been ashamed with this abuse carried out by Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats. Using impeachment to over-turn an election weakens this sacred constitutional process. I hope that the Senate will treat this process with more fairness.”
Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California’s First Congressional District, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
