LaMalfa Applauds HUD Long-Term Disaster Relief Funds

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) issued the following statement after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) announcement of $1.25 billion to support long-term disaster recovery in the State of California through the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program.

LaMalfa said: “I am pleased that the Administration is continuing its commitment to supporting disaster recovery efforts throughout the North State. This funding will be used to assist in recovery from the Carr, Camp, and Wall wildfires. The release of these funds gives our local governments the resources necessary to return a sense of normalcy to our constituents. The North State has been resilient throughout these recent fire seasons, but there is still more work to be done. I will continue to work with Federal agencies to provide support for long-term recovery in the North State.”

Congressman LaMalfa supported the passage of H.R. 1892 and H.R. 2157, which authorized this disaster relief funding.

Congressman Doug LaMalfa is a lifelong farmer representing California’s First Congressional District, including Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties.
